About Luxapallila

After travelling the world as a military family and living in cities big and small, we finally made our way back to the Winfield area.  We noticed that one thing was missing from our daily routine...a great cup of coffee.  After a couple of years of talking about how much we missed the local coffee shops in different locations we used to live, we realized that we were going to be the ones to make that happen.

We sought out the best beans to sample, and sample we did!  We tasted beans from all over the world, Indonesia to Ethiopia to South and Central America and we noticed one thing: the roaster really did make the difference!  We finally found our match with Nonfiction Coffee.  We met the entire Nonfiction staff and immediately knew they were the right choice...they are local (Birmingham), they deal directly with the farmers instead of an exchange, and they employ special needs adults among their staff.  This last point is very near and dear to our hearts.

Before we opened, we were trained to be baristas by Nonfiction.  It is a science of exact measurements and precise pours, and we are happy with the results.  We have been extremely blessed by our community and we constantly look for ways to improve our product and service.  We believe that coffee is a means to bring community, and that is our aim.  We strive to improve our community and provide a cup of happiness that people can enjoy again and again.  We don't just have customers, we have guests and friends who we are eager to see, because without them, we would have no community!
